I paint what I see around me. Some days the shapes are clear and the colours impress deeply on my mind's eye, some days the colours are more subtle.
I studied sculpture and photography at various art colleges in Ireland and I have added painting and drawing as a means of expressing what I see. I have a strong love of colour and formm and how that blends and sometimes it strikes my eye with a hue so strong you would not believe it to be natural, yet I see it. Most of the work on show how are of the areas where I live or have spent time. I had the pleasure of visiting Iceland some years ago and although larger in form and shape than Ireland, has strong landscape similarity.
If I was to put my work into a category I would call it memory paintings.
